Key Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the orchestration runtime, workflow model, and activity execution pattern.
  
• Own engineering quality across code structure, testing, versioning, deployment, and operational readiness.
  
• Design and implement safe patterns for retries, idempotency, evidence capture, failure handling, and recovery.
  
• Drive the technical assembly of services, integrations, agents, and workflow components into end-to-end slices.
  
• Establish observability, diagnostics, and run-time support patterns for the platform.
  
• Guide engineering decisions around performance, resilience, and production hardening.
  
• Mentor engineers and set expectations for engineering rigor and delivery pace.
  
• Partner closely with solution and integration architects to keep the implementation both pragmatic and aligned.
  

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on engineering leadership experience in backend, platform, or distributed systems delivery.
  
• Experience designing and building workflow-driven or long-running transactional systems.
  
• Strong knowledge of testing strategy, CI/CD, runtime resilience, and production supportability.
  
• Experience with API-driven integration and complex service boundaries.
  
• Ability to lead by building, not only by coordinating.
  
• Strong engineering judgment in balancing speed, safety, and maintainability.
  
• Fluent with AI-enabled automation across the software delivery lifecycle — uses AI to accelerate epic and story refinement, design exploration, implementation, test generation, CI/CD workflows, release operations, production support, and integration with the Atlassian suite without eroding code quality or engineering rigor.
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Temporal or equivalent workflow orchestration platforms.
  
• Background in event-driven systems, audit-heavy platforms, or regulated environments.
  
• Familiarity with LLM-assisted workflows or AI-enabled platform patterns.
